Yep, this is why the "normal" severity is the correct severity.

I would strongly recommend to first try reproducing this with the *cifs*
file system instead of smbfs.

smbfs is unmaintained upstream and very unlikely to be fixed in any way.

If the bug shows up with cifs, then we'll have good material to send
upstream.

If the bug doesn't happen with cifs, then this bug will join the long
list of "smbfs sucks" bugs until we finally decide to completely remove
the smbfs utilities from the smbfs package
