Update to Etch?

Well, the last round of updates in Etch is dated back to November
2007, with 3 releases in a row to fix security issues....and
regressions they induced.

So, unless you're using some unofficial packages or update your
systems very rarely, I don't see any reason for such updates to come
in the last days.

On the other hand, your initial report was mentioning 3.0.28a-2 as
package version, which is the version in lenny (and sid as well).
