Hmm, I think what I need is a git hat, so that I can see easily whether this
particular change is present in 3.2.0...

FWIW, I don't think the upstream fix is entirely correct yet; I've followed
up to the upstream bug with my findings that nmbd will sometimes end up in a
busy loop, apparently related to the problem this change is meant to fix.

Were there other changes besides this one that you were concerned about
picking up?  I think everything else that's being uploaded to hardy in SRU
is a backport of fixes that should already be in 3.2.0 for sure, but there
may be some changes in intrepid again that we should have a look at.  (I'm
afraid I don't have that package in front of me at the moment since I'm
sitting in the DFW airport currently, but I'm happy to have a look at this
with you once I reach MDQ, Christian.)
