It's possible to retrieve emails from an exchange server as well
(fetchmail-style). There is also support for manipulation of the address
book and appointments on an Exchange server, though I am not sure what
the level of support for that is.
Evolution (trunk) contains an experimental Exchange plugin that uses
libmapi-dev and will hopefully be included in their next release.
Cheers,
