This appears to be a duplicate of bug #491881.  It is probably a bug, but I
want to check with upstream to find out why the change was made before
reverting it in the Debian package.

Not grave in any case, the smbclient package works generally and a
workaround exists in the form of explicitly specifying port 139 in your URI
if you need to connect to old servers that don't talk on port 445.
