From my understanding, they *are* the same bug.

This is upstream bug #5747.

It is quite hard to really spot when this was fixed upstream but I
suspect this was fixed in the big batch of updates for winbind crashes
in 3.2.6.

I  very much suspect it won't happen. The same fixes that went in
3.2.6 also went in 3.3.0
