The bug was opened in 2005 and lot has changed since then.
Can you confirm the concerns you had are still valid after four years?
Because I think mount.cifs man page has much more information on rsize
and wsize and I do not see text like "/proc/mounts says that the default 
values are 4100". I promise to work promptly on changes/info 
suggested/requested, if any.
