Can/would this operation/query be a part of the cifs protocol?
Regarding special casing filesystems such as ext2/ext3/(probably fat)
which have larger granularity, what would special casing do, set the
granularity to 1 second while creating a file (inorder to assign a
granual timestamp to begin with) or disable lookupcache?
