Found this by myself.

From upstream's comments in that bug, I was tempted to close the
bug. Finally, I'll set the forwarded flag in the hope that upstream
comes on the underlying stuff at some moment.

Still smbnetfs should really workaround the issue as upstream did not
give great hope about a fix in a near future.
