To clarify, by "main" I meant the process directly servicing the client
(and leaking).  That is NOT the master smbd process, the one which
launches the others (and, I assume, handles initial incoming requests).

In the tracing I did I killed both the process servicing the client and
all of samba (/etc/init.d samba stop).  But it was the former that had
the main leak.
