Fresh install on a clean squeeze machine (actually the machine I build
packages on: nearly nothing is installed on it as everything is build
with pbuilder):

sesostris:~# sudo netstat -nlp|grep 139
tcp 0 0 0.0.0.0:139 0.0.0.0:* LISTEN 31912/smbd
tcp6       0      0 :::139                  :::*                    LISTEN      31912/smbd
unix 2 [ ACC ] STREAM LISTENING 4139 1363/master private/relay
sesostris:~# uname -a
Linux sesostris 2.6.32-trunk-686 #1 SMP Sun Jan 10 06:32:16 UTC 2010 i686 GNU/Linux
sesostris:~# dpkg -s samba
Package: samba
Status: install ok installed
Priority: optional
Section: net
Installed-Size: 16680
Maintainer: Debian Samba Maintainers <pkg-samba-maint at lists.alioth.debian.org>
Architecture: i386
Version: 2:3.4.7~dfsg-2
.../...
sesostris:~#

So, as a matter of fact, I still can't reproduce that bug.
