So, the probablem very probably belongs to smbclient more than the
samba server itself. Ideally, this should be investigated directly with
upstream. If this really isn't possible to you, then I can forward the
bug upstreamand act as a proxy...but if you're not scared by Bugzilla,
then it could be worth reporting directly to
https://bugzilla.samba.org
Other tests you could do to complete the already very detailed tests
you did : trying these listing problems with a Windows *server*. (and
of course smbclient from a *nix machine).
