Summary: smbd crashes when guest account doesn't exist
Product: Samba 3.6
Version: 3.6.5
Platform: All
URL: http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=65338
2
OS/Version: All
Status: NEW
Severity: normal
Priority: P5
Component: User & Group Accounts
AssignedTo: samba-bugs at samba.org
ReportedBy: ivo.dedecker at ugent.be
QAContact: samba-qa at samba.org
CC: pkg-samba-maint at lists.alioth.debian.org
When a guest account that doesn't exist is specified, smbd starts just fine,
resulting in a crash when trying to connect as a guest user.
This is fixed in master by commit 51567de6d7d91f727a2135cd2d5434f85db6d45a
This fix should probably be backported to samba 3.6, as it is an obvious fix.
The problem was detected based on this debian bug report:
http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=653382
Thanks in advance!
