Ilari,
I was able to reproduce this problem by setting "guest account" to a user that
doesn't exist. Can you check that the guest account (default nobody) is
correct?
For other developers: to reproduce the problem, add
guest account = someuserthatdoesntexist
to smb.conf, and try to connect to a share as guest.
This problem should be fixed upstream by commit
51567de6d7d91f727a2135cd2d5434f85db6d45a (in master). With this patch, smbd
doesn't start if the guets account doesn't exist.
I will backport this patch to samba 3.6.
