Actually, we just looked at this code in samba.postinst and
samba.config.

Most of all this is meant to automatically create smbpasswd and
eventually passdb.tdb from the system's user list.

A consequence is the delay above and a complicated handling in
samba.config in case ppl are using non encrypted passwords.

Anyway, nowadays that most Samba installs often use external user
databases, I'm not surte it makes sense to generate the users samba
password files automatically (including system users).

Therefore, I propose entirely dropping all this stuff as "obsolete",
including the two debconf questions.

Steve, as you're by far the most conservative among us, would you
object?

It's, after all, just about dropping a potential nightmare with many
hardcoded paths...:-) (not even talking about Samba4)
