Let me summarize a bit for http://bugs.debian.org/649265

The original motivation of this bug report was addressed through
discussion.  

 --> Solution "Tell user to use DNS. (I fixed it in Debian Reference.)

In this sense, my bug is fixed as far as I am concerned.

The discussion here yielded another issue by Steve Langasek.  There is
no coordinated mechanism to manage /etc/nsswitch.conf among packages
(probably not much for wins but more for libnss-mdns).  This should be
heard by the base-files maintainer.

So instead of marking this bug "wontfix", let's reassign this to
base-files with updated title.

If this has been addressed by newer base-files package, please close this bug.

This is wishlist for post-wheezy, though.
