Hello Olaf,

I'm sorry for replying so late after your bug report. It apparently
escaped our attention.

With so few elements, I'm not sure wecan do much.

Is there a possibility that you increase the log level to 3 in
smb.conf and then check nmbd.log in order to see if there is more
information?

Usually, nmbd failing to start is due to network interface missing. Is
there a reason for the network to be up late in your virtual machines?
