[Pkg-samba-maint] Samba update

I'm having problems with Samba on one of my Debian computers, and I
notice that the current version from samba.org is 3.6.9, whereas I think
the one I'm wrestling with is 2.3.5.6.  Since the problem I'm having is
on one out of two computers running Samba, I'm torn between a fresh
install of the current version or sticking with what is working on a
second computer.

Are there any plans on working a current version of Samba into the
package repository?
