Just as an update: I'm sorry to say that my efforts to rebase on to the
'samba' package stalled out, and I'm swamped with other things right
now.
The packaging work is where I left it, and represents pretty much what I
think the final state should be based on, but it currently continues
from the 'samba4' package, not the 'samba' package.
