Checking the 3.6.x release notes did not show a clear upstream culprit for the 
change of behavior but there have been a couple of changes to the printing 
subsystem in 3.6.0. We have seen this issue as well. The problem is described 
pretty accurately in  http://www.df.lth.se/~jokke/samba_printer.php (see also 
man smb.conf). Anyway, if anything then it would be an upstream bug.
