I was able to build and install a set of .debs including the above patch, thanks to Raphael Hertzog’s fine instructions [2]. However, unfortunately I still have the following error in the logs:

  sys_disk_free: VFS disk_free failed. Error was : Invalid or incomplete multibyte or wide character

So possibly the patch is insufficient?
