[Pkg-samba-maint] Debian backport procedure

Hi Mathieu/Debian maintainers,

My name is Shyam Prasad. I work at Microsoft in the Azure Files development team.
I'm also a contributor to the Linux cifs project (the default Linux SMB client filesystem), and I work closely with Steve and Pavel who are the maintainers of the filesystem and related utilities.

I understand that you are the maintainer this project for Debian.
We would like to understand the process of taking in new releases of the software in Debian and the process of backport of important security patches/fixes.

They talk about the questions from the end user perspective, not from the software maintainer's point of view.
