Aha.
The key point was 'guest' parameter which I weren't able to guess :)

This is an upstream issue, I submitted an upstream bug report
about this.

Lowering severity of this bug, since it happens in certain
conditions only (guest mount).

Overall, cifs-utils code seems to be getting worse,
unfortunately... :(
