Whereas this bug (change needed for version 3.3.x) is closed as a 
non-bug, I did not succeed updating to 3.3.x yet (upstream build system 
changed and fails with current packaging routines).

Help figuring out the changes needed is much appreciated.  I will be 
travelling in India the next two months - will still be active and will 
try solve this upgrade issue, but possibly slow to respond - just to 
warn ahead...
