Generally:

If by sponsoring you mean that you feel you have now completed a 
contribution for Debian and would like me to approve that to get it into 
Debian, then I dislike that view on Debian and don't want to help 
promote that attitude: I dearly appreciate all help pushing Debian 
forward but prioritize long-term maintenance over short-term "push", and 
I don't want to finalize packages into Debian if no real _maintainer_ is 
involved.

If however you mean that you consider yourself now a team member of the 
Sass team with a special interest in that one package you introduced 
yourself (for now - great if you some day choose to expand on that) and 
you just happen to not be a Debian Member (yet - great if you some day 
choose to join formally), and you need another team member to handle the 
finalizing of our work - now and for later updates which you expect to 
be involved in preparing as well, then I am happy to help finalize.


Also, concretely:

My worflow (which currently includes git-buildpackage and not sbuild).  
I cannot sensibly help finalize packages if they need sbuild.  I don't 
know if this one does, just mentioning in advance...
