Please remember that I use Debian stable.
That means that what you are suggesting me is trying a backported libsdl
package.
Among prboom dependencies I see three sdl-related packages:
libsdl-mixer1.2 (>= 1.2.6)
libsdl-net1.2
libsdl1.2debian (>> 1.2.7+1.2.8)
Which one should I try to backport to sarge, *if* I manage to find the
time to do the test?
