I made a similar mistake: I've created a git repo and pushed the currrent 
version of sdl-mixer1.2 before realising there was a SVN repo.

That said, the NMU version of sdl-mixer1.2 is not archived on SVN.

I'm not sure that the old history of sdl-mixer is worth the effort of 
converting SVN to git.

Regarding the git repo, I've created a structure similar to sdl-games 
and debian perl:

dod at vasks:~$ find /git/pkg-sdl/ -name *.git
/git/pkg-sdl/meta.git
/git/pkg-sdl/packages/sdl-mixer1.2.git
/git/pkg-sdl/pkg-sdl.git

pkg-sdl.git is empty. You should be able to retrieve meta and 
sdl-mixer1.2 repos with a mr command (although I'm still fuzzy about 
the actual command).

The git doc [1] from debian-perl describes how to use mr. The commands in 
there must be adapted to sdl repo.

Your id on vasks has the proper right so you should be able to do:

  git clone ssh://git.debian.org/git/pkg-sdl/packages/sdl-mixer1.2.git
