Current status of the depends in -dev packages

Hello,

So I guess that you noticed the spike in activity today with me
submitting a few bug reports and CCing this mailing list.

The situation is that, on top of the ~34 packages which were FTBFS due
to libsdl1.2-dev removal of dependencies and mostly due to GCC-4.7,
another 13 failed when I used local copies of sdl-mixer1.2 and
sdl-image1.2 with the extra dependencies removed.

Some people are already fixing the FTBFS bugs due to GCC-4.7, some of
these 13 packages were removed by request to FTP masters (they were
RC-buggy and were generally unmaintained, etc).

I submitted bug reports to the remaining packages, so hopefully some
of them will add the needed dependencies and so we can remove them
from the -dev packages in the near future.  Additionally, one person
asked to upload versions of our packages to experiemental with the
dependencies removed, so I did it, and I am about to send info to all
bug reports about this.

I acted quickly, without informing and waiting from your feedback, but
I hope that everything is OK with you.  I will have a few busy weeks
from now on and I didn't want to delay this longer.  Besides that, it
seems that it's important to do things quickly nowadays, the GCC-4.7
and approaching freeze already got in the way.  So please confirm if
everything is OK with you, or if you have any further comments,
suggestions, etc.

Finally, note that some of the other 34 packages FTBFS from unrelated
issues will probably also FTBFS because changes to our packages if we
reintroduce those changes; so we'll have to rebuild again in a few
weeks to see if things have improved.
