Dear Maintainer,

I'm experimenting with SDL2_mixer and I'm facing something very
similar to #726912.

As we can see at the end of that bug, you eventually reverted the
following patch in SDL_mixer 1.2:

Did you mention it to upstream so he reverts it too?  Otherwise he may
well have included it in SDL2_mixer (chronologically possible AFAICS)
