Glad to be of service. I hope the code isn't too full
of bugs. (Also ... it has magic numbers in it obtained
by performance tests more than 15 years ago. Memory
hierarchies have changed a bit since then. It's probably
somewhat less than optimal now. But performance shouldn't
be super-sensitive to the values of those numbers.)
