Package: libsdl1.2debian
Version: 1.2.15+dfsg2-4
Severity: important
Tags: patch

Hi,

since some time I noticed a problem within a game (Unreal Tournament 2004)
using libsdl1.2 that the forward movement suddenly stopped, while I still had
the forward key pressed. This is an quite annoying bug when playing the game.
The bug likely also affects many other games using libsdl1.2.

I traced this behavior down to change [1] in the X server. Further analysis
showed that patches solving this issue haven been added to libsdl2. I opened an
upstream bug about backporting these to the SDL-1.2 branch and they have been
quickly accepted in [2].

A cherry-pick of the upstream patch from the SDL-1.2 fixing the issue is
available as merge request here:

https://salsa.debian.org/sdl-team/libsdl1.2/-/merge_requests/2

It would be really great to get this included in bullseye.

Thanks,
Maxi
