[Pkg-shadow-devel] Here we are with the shadow package maintenance

Folks, here we are....

Today, I have uploaded the 4.0.3-31sarge1 release of the Debian
shadow package. It will reach unstable now and testing in 2 days.

I have used the opportunity of a release critical bug report (upgrade
failure from woody under some circumstances because of file conflicts)
to do this.

This package has this mailing list mentioned as "Maintainer:" which
means the bug reports and mails sent to "shadow@packages.debian.org"
will go here (I need to double-check this).

I am myself recorded as "Uploader:" along with Sam Hartman (I'm not
sure whether Sam is subscribed here or not).

The CVS on Alioth has however currently NOT the current status of the
debian/ package. I'll keep maintaining this manually as this is
supposed to have very few changes now.

Indeed it has the -32 upcoming release, targeted at post-sarge, which
will use dpatch as a convenient way to have all Debian specific stuff
in the debian/ directory (which will be the only one maintained
through CVS).

For avoiding confusion, I will probably not make an upload of -32
before the release of sarge (this would later require using
testing-proposed-updates for sarge updates, which I want to avoid).

Welcome to the new world of the shadow Debian package....we are not a
lot of people, but I hope we'll make a good job.
