Sure, just like the "dropping setuid bit from login" request is.

But, we are very close to a release (well, some recent events about
the kernel may add some delay but I can't know ATM). So, any change
which is likely to not get enough testing is, imho, to be avoided and
my current mood is delaying *any* change but l10n and RC changes to
post-sarge.

shadow being a base system package, any RC event happening on it can
delay the release and I don't want to be the guy who delayed
sarge...:-)


If we have enough time, we will maybe work on a release targeted at
sid (which means forking the package) and then be able to put there
the changes we consider "safe" just to get them tested enough (a lot
of developers and users use sid).

The current work is now bug triaging and the switch to dpatch (see CVS
on Alioth and the numerous activities on the bug log I started
yesterday....I'll call for help about this)
