And indeed there were tons of Makefile.in patches which were
absolutely useless in the patches, as these files are autogenerated at
build time..:-)

We have another mini-problem to solve=A0: when building the package, it
seems that the build process runs twice..:-). Makefile gurus, please
help..:-)
