CARENCRO, La.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Gulf Petroleum
Exchange, Inc. (PINK SHEETS:GFPE - News) announced
today the retention of a renowned certified geologist,
Mr. Sheldon Turrill. Mr. Turrill has been retained to
evaluate the purchase of the 75 oil and gas wells in
the Appalachian and Illinois Basin that Gulf recently
signed a Letter of Intent to acquire.

Mr. Turrill has a stellar reputation and a long history
of geological surveys, appraisals and completions of oil
and gas wells in the Appalachian and Illinois Basins. Oil
was discovered in the Appalachian Basin in 1859 and in
Illinois Basin in 1904. Cumulatively the Basins have
produced more than 5 billion barrels of oil and 50 trillion
cubic feet of natural gas. After more than a century of
production, equal or greater quantities of resources are
still waiting to be tapped. The Appalachian Basin is
180,000 square miles and is the largest onshore basin in
the United States. This area remains relatively unexplored;
current estimates of remaining resources (including proved
reserves) are in the range of 4.8 billion barrels of oil
and 79 to 96 trillion cubic feet of natural gas.

Warren "Skip" Wheeler, President of Gulf Petroleum Exchange,
Inc., stated, "The company gained an enormous asset when Mr.
Turrill agreed to work with us on a continuing basis."

Mr. Sheldon Turrill, certified geologist, stated, "I have
worked with Skip on several occasions in the past, and I am
looking forward to doing so again."
