I've just been using the source. ;)

Are you going to reopen this bug? Is there anything else I can do? I'd
like to see at least part of the problem fixed for the next release of
debian/ubuntu. If there is anything I can do to help (patches, testing,
whatever) please let me know, I'd be happy to do it.
