A first interesting work would certainly be collecting all of them in
the devleopment tree, for peer review (please note that I absolutely
do not qualify for peer review).

So far, we have:
- Debian patches
- Redhat patches (are there different patches for Fedora and RHEL ?
Please forgive my ignorance of the differences between both)
- Gentoo patches

What else do we have?

Ubuntu does not patch shadow sources differently than Debian (we get
that information from automated mails sent by Ubuntu robots when a new
version is released in Ubuntu).

Do other major Linux "vendors" use shadow utilities?

Do some other Unix flavours vendors also use shadow? OpenSolaris,
maybe?
