Because you are using an old tree. D^HRecent ones, like the patchkit
used by RHEL, have xencons=xvc as the default (for very good reasons).

This is trivial to fix in login since adding xvc0 to securetty has no
side effects or security implications[1], but I am not sure about how
it can be fixed in your package because if the kernel does not have
xvc0 then the getty will die and init will complain.


[1] And while you are fixing this, please add hvc0 as well...
