Please remember, still, that Ubuntu is derived from Debian...and
Nicolas is the Debian package maintainer.

So, as long as they monitor Debian security updates, they should be
aware of problems. Of course, as they use versions from Debian
unstable when they prepare their releases, they probably need some
specific updates for their gazillion releases. This is what you get
when you release too often..:-)
