Nice try, but this is not login.
DISPLAY is not set when I log in a console.
login does not handle DISPLAY specifically (the only program in shadow
which does is su).
Did you check /etc and the configuration files in your home directory?
Some various ideas:
/etc/security/pam_env.conf
/etc/environment
/etc/profile
/etc/bash*
~/.bash*
~/.profile
