Package: passwd
Version: 1:4.1.5-1
Followup-For: Bug #660406

Dear Maintainer,
I want to confirm that this bug is still present in passwd 1:4.1.5-1 on
i386. I also want to confirm what Mike Frysinger noted that there is a fix
available on the devel mailing list. I applied the patch to the 1:4.1.5-1
sources and have attempted to use deluser in an identical manner as before.
After applying the patch, rebuilding, and installing the patched passwd
package, deluser works as expected. Since this bug effects the ability for a
debian system to purge any package that creates users or groups, I think it
would be wise to raise the severity of this bug. Please consider reviewing the
proposed patch on the mailing list and including it in the next version of
passwd to be released as soon as possible. Thank you.
