[Pkg-shadow-devel] Bug#681838: /usr/sbin/useradd: allow username (not just number) with -u

Package: passwd
Version: 1:4.1.4.2+svn3283-2+squeeze1
Severity: wishlist
File: /usr/sbin/useradd

Can you allow the -u option to take a username, not just a number?

It's useful with -o

A workaround is using the id command, but it's simpler if the program does it itself.
