Any help is always welcome. Still, the problem we have is that
Nicolas, who is the one knowing the code and having the skills to
maintain it is mostly busy in his RL and inactive for quite a while on
shadow.

*I* do have many other duties in Debian and I follow shadow for
critical issues but that's mostly it. And, anyway, I completely lack
the coding skills to maintain the code and even to review proposed
patches.

So, we indeed need a long-term "upstream" shadow maintainer with the
required skills. And, in some way, someone I could trust enough to
upload his|her changes without fearing to break Debian entirely (which
is easy to do with shadow of course).

That is not easy to find and I'm fully aware that "#define trust" is
not easy...:-)

Anyway, a good start is certainly by proposing patches to existing
bugs. I could probably find help to review these patches, among the
Debian community....and probably gradually develop the needed trust
with volunteers to be able to restore shadow maintenance.

Another method is to convince Nicolas that he still can spend some of
his time in this..:-)
