What is the procedure for importing upstreams for the sp?

Well, I'd be willing to do something different if it made things easier.
I don't know much about using git-svn on an ongoing basis, but being able
to cherry-pick commits does sound like it could be useful.

It would probably be worth putting some effort into hacking the Git commit
notification script to not flood the list with the commits pulled in from
upstream somehow, since the dance required to avoid having it do that for
the openafs and krb5 repositories is sort of annoying.
