SP packaging repository conversion, patch reception

Small patches for typos don't need any real signoff, just functional patches or enhancements. I don't know that we have any real mechanism for handling pull requests, I really don't know git and we're just hosting it ourselves for the moment. I'll have to ask Ian. Jira is fine in the meantime.
