Dear Maintainer,

Synchronizing of calendars and address books (via CalDAV/CardDAV) is not working. I experience the issue in the Thunderbird client (on Windows) as well as DAVx5 (on Android).

The issue is that content starts with an UTF-8 Byte-Order-Mark (BOM), caused by changes in gnustep-base introduced between version 1.27 and 1.28, as described here:
