[Pkg-sssd-devel] SSSD 1.15.2-1 does not have pam and nss services enabled

Dear SSSD developers,

When installing 1.15.2-1 it doesn’t enable the required SSSD services. When used with FreeIPA, this means that id/getent and logging in won’t work.
In previous versions (1.11.x etc.) the services line reads:

services = nss, sudo, pam, ssh

Adding this to the configuration for 1.15.x makes it work again. It appears that according to some RedHat/Fedora lists, SSSD 15.x is supposed to have systemd socket activation, but that doesn’t seem to be the case with the Debian SSSD package.
This probably means that either socket activation for SSSD has to be added, or the services line ins sssd.conf needs to be restored.

Kind regards,

John Keates
