Same here, that's why I have been hesitant about touching sssd.

Please do it as debian/tests/ debci/autopkgtest instead, that way anyone
working on this will automatically notice any regressions, at least if
they use Salsa or some local debci/autopkgtest setup.  There is some
stuff there already, but I can't tell how good coverage that gives
compared to common real-world setups.
