Yeah, I understand it is a hassle, but I would hope that once resolved,
it is a delight to have a reliable regression test framework available.

I went through this for setting up a Kerberos realm with working
client/KDC and then a IMAP-server to be able to regression test gsasl,
and while it was a lot of tedious work, it has paid off improving
confidence in any Kerberos changes.

Of course, without offering to do this myself, my opinion here isn't
worth much...  but maybe someone interested in sssd knows ldapd and
could help put together a proper SSSD regression framework.
