Please do!

This should provide you a clean install of Sugar and a login manager:

 1) Download the installer for soon-to-become-stable Debian Stretch:
    https://www.debian.org/devel/debian-installer/
 2) When asked mid-way through install what to include, deselect all
 3) Log in as root, and run this command:
    apt install sucrose lightdm

> Computer' in 'MySettings').

Please actually _use_ Sugar packaged for Debian, and then for each issue
you identify as in your opinion being wrong or missing, file a bugreport
so we can track it properly: https://www.debian.org/Bugs/Reporting

> This problem is the Sugar developers.

Not sure I agree, but in any case the solution is _more_ developers.

Your diving in and testing actual use of almost-stable Debian will be a
real help for the few developers currently struggling to find time to
implement the marvellous vision of a perfected Sugar experience.

(later you can learn to make Debian packages and directly improve...)

Thanks for your input, looking forward to your experiences with Debian,

 - Jonas
